Dark circles around/under the eyes are very, very tricky and can be a pain to treat. I believe, so far, that one can never really completely rid oneself of them, however, there are ways to drastically reduce them. Believe it or not, you must first begin with changing your diet as well as your habits. Diet-wise; be mindful of unneccesary toxins, i.e. alcohol, DRUGS, excessive caffeination and of course, not enough water. You absolutely MUST drink water if you want to see those circles reduced. Behaviorally, if you're late to bed, early to rise like most of us who try to squeeze having a life outside of work, school, demanding relationships or parenting (which is another demanding relationship but tolerable and loving) and/or if you smoke, ANYTHING, then DO expect to pay for it with luggage beneath those lipid pools of yada, yada yada. Bottom line, cut the crap, no accusation intended, flush out your toxins, try to get some REAL sleep here n' there, and of course, once you've mastered these rituals, then do begin using topical remedies such a cocoa butter (believe it or not) and as for me, I use the Oil of Olay eye dermo pods within a combination of other products like the night firming cream by them. They're amazing and no, I am not a marketer of the product, I am a 3rd shift worker, I have a 7 1/2 year old daughter and my mom lives w/me, so I kinda know a lil about bags, beneath the eyes and emotionally.
