Does the use of Cosmetic Contact lenses require any testing on the eyes?

I'm about to buy a pair of Korean ';Big Eye'; contact lenses which are costmetic and I'm wondering whether ANY sort of testing on my eyes should be done.

Recently my friend purchased a pair from a contact lense store which ships contact lenses from Korea. It is not an optometrist store although they do go through correct usage and maintenance of the lenses.

My question is, are all the contact lenses suitable for everyone or does everyone need a specific pair which is suited to their eye's optical power?Does the use of Cosmetic Contact lenses require any testing on the eyes?
First of all- if you are in the USA, you will be required by law to get a contact lens exam from your eye doctor in order to be able to buy the contacts. Reason for this is many people try to buy contacts black market- and this is VERY DANGEROUS- because I worked with a Doctor friend of mine that kept this article in his office about a 16 yrs old that lost one eye and nearly went blind in the other- because she didnt want to do the right thing- and get fitted correctly. Need I say more?Does the use of Cosmetic Contact lenses require any testing on the eyes?
just make sure that they are authentic

hey honey go check out www.imperialpalace.ws . i sell all the authentic contacts and clothes and i wear those contacts too because i have to make sure they are 100% real. They are real big deal to your eyes. Report Abuse

PLEASE get checked by on O.D. to make sure you are safe to wear contacts. I've heard of some contacts from overseas actually containing old/tainted solution causing some fusarium and/or keratitis infections which hurt like hell (excuse the cussing), and cost more to fix than the exam and buying the ';american'; version that have a more rigid safety control. Print out the style of contact you want, take it to your eye doctor and they will find you a proper equivilent that will be safe for your eye.
Even if you do not need power correction for your eyes, you really should have your eyes checked and be properly fitted with contact lenses. There are certain testing and measurements that need to be done before fitting. I know that it would be more expensive, but trust me, it really is not a good idea to order contacts without being fitted and from another country. Contact lenses are medical devices and should be fit by professionals. Hope this helps...hope you follow this advice!
